We are planning on travelling to Croatia the first week in September. My friend and I are not the experienced travellers but excited to explore. So far we’ve decided we should use Dubrovnik as our base and could see most of it in 2 days and nights and then make a trip to islands such as Korcula, Hvar or Mljet. Any suggestions as to what our itinerary should be, where to stay, what to see and do are greatly appreciated. We are interested in the food and wine and culture of the area. Thank you!

If you would like to focus on culture and architecture you could spend time in Dubrovnik and Korcula.

Mljet is good for outdoors, walking and similar.

Hvar is bit too far from Dubrovnik if you stay in the area for one week only unless you decide to fly back home from Split.

In that case you could do a day trip to Hvar or Trogir from there.
